Why do we keep building roads?

Experience has shown us that building more lanes of highways, freeways, and tollways only makes the problem worse due to induced demand. The result is more time wasted, more noise, more air pollution, more stress from aggro drivers, and more car crashes.

If you're serious about reducing how much time is wasted in people's daily commute, just build more trains. Also, improve other modes of travel, such as making it safe for cyclists. And, encourage work from home.
