Well, the league championship series ended tonight, with The St. Boniface Riels punching their ticket to a well-deserved playoffs victory. I made it out to three of the five games in the end. This was the first time I had attended a championship-winning game, so was exciting to witness.
The building went awfully quiet with 6-7 minutes remaining and the Riels ahead 4-1. After an empty net goal made it 5-1, an even more pronounced hush spread amongst the Express crowd. #hockey #JuniorHockey #hnom
Last night saw The Hawks score four, but they were, once again, mostly outplayed and outpaced. They gave up another shorty, which ended up being the game and series winner for The Express.
#22 Jacob left the game in the first period after a significant laceration. He did make it back for handshakes after apparently visiting the hospital, which speaks to his dedication at his final league game.
I may or may not attend the league final series at this point.

This afternoon's Hawks v Railer Express game was sort of the opposite of the first meeting between them -- with the latter coming out on top in a 4-0 shutout performance. The Hawks had several decent chances but just couldn't get them in.
They're now up against the wall, needing three straight wins to make it through to play The Riels in the final.
Impressive 410$ 50/50 pot today.
Worth noting in this photo that a certain flag on the wall has been removed... #JuniorHockey #playoffs #hnom #Canada
Tonight's game was a nail-biter. Former Royal Knight #22 netted the lone Hawks goal just before a bad major penalty was taken by them. They're lucky to have only allowed one goal during the five minute "kill".
Game went into a ten minute overtime period and a Hawks powerplay ended up costing them after they got caught in their end, unable to clear the puck. The Railer Express shorthanded win celebration took place right in front of me on the boards. Oh well. Onto Sunday. #JuniorHockey #playoffs
Hawks had a first good half of the game this evening, then took their foot off the pedal and stumbled around more than I've seen them do. They were missing Penner again and then Kreklewetz tonight, so that left a noticeable gap. Hawks goaltender, Gordon, wasn't pleased with his performance.
They'll regroup for game three on Friday.

Saw a pretty decent 1st semifinal game this afternoon with the Hawks taking on the Railer Express. Hawks definitely controlled the play out there & made few mistakes.
Ended up attending the other semifinal game next as it was perfectly timed after & only a slight detour south towards home. That second game featured former Knight Johnson vs. another former Knight, also named Johnson (unrelated). Was surprised the shot count was fairly low. #JuniorHockey #hnom
Well, this series ended today, with a 3-1 win by the Hawks, as they will move on to the semifinals. Pretty tense and intense game for some good stretches, so was quite captivating.
The only Jets truly taking off today were the ones from the airport, it would seem.
No points, today, for the ten percent Knights contingent on the Hawks, but they were both putting in the effort to show they have the drive to play a solid sixty minutes. #hnom #hockey #JuniorHockey #playoffs
Enjoyed watching a much better game for our league's Hawks today over their performance Friday night. It's the first round of the playoffs, and our team was eliminated a few weeks back. There are two Knights on the Hawks: one in his final season in the league, and the other will return to us next season. Both scored nice goals today. The Hawks looked much more relaxed with crisper passes and speed in this game. I'm attending the games to show my support. #hnom #hockey #JuniorHockey #playoffs
