A quick Q for US journalists: How long does it usually take for FOIA requests to come back? I used the US legislation for the first time in January 2018 and the response only came back in September 2022 - four years and nine months after I sent it. And the thing I asked for was redacted. Is that normal, or was my request lost behind the photocopier? In the UK, authorities have to respond in 28 days and usually do. #FOIA #JournalismMastodon #journalism
