One reason I like to print papers out is that papers physically pile up and take space so I need to deal with them to literally and physically clear things off my desk. That way I ensure that I read them. Electronic copies or open tabs just disappear into the digital ether and I will never read them.

@Rocahontas I have migrated completely from #EvolutionaryBiology to #ComputerScience. When I was doing biology all conference presentations were just that and did not count as publications (only #JournalPapers were publications). But in all #ComputerScience conferences I have attended all papers are #ConferencePapers. Maybe a rush to publish things in computer science (which results in lower impact factors)? Read great publications from STRI but never had anything to do with geology.
