📢 On Saturday, at 2:30 pm, Ithaca Committee for Justice in Palestine is hosting a community-led town hall with a focus on U.S. Rep. Josh Riley.
▶️ We will provide a platform for various groups and individual community members to collectively evaluate Rep. Riley.
▶️ We will present objective information on Riley’s voting record, professional background, and conduct while in office.
▶️ We will invite and encourage the active participation of community, political, and union groups; request they revoke their endorsements (if applicable); and publicly call on him, within their group capacities, to uphold the progressive values he claimed while running for office.
💌 We have extended an invitation to Josh Riley to attend. However, we don’t anticipate his presence, as he has dodged multiple community meetings and events, including his own, by cancelling at the last minute.
▶️ We will not change the program format if he does attend, except to provide him with an opportunity to respond to each component.
❌ As of this post, we still haven’t received a response from Rep. Riley.

Three Arrested Demanding Action to Protect Palestinian Lives
“The United States government has been complicit in the crime-of-crimes, genocide, for over two years. This violates US law, in particular the Genocide Convention Implementation Act of 1987. Gaza remains under a brutal state of siege, without adequate means of sustenance and medical care. Israel has violated the ceasefire at least 47 times since Oct.10th, killing 128 and wounding more than 230 Palestinians. In the West Bank, ethnic cleansing continues, with 60,000 Palestinians displaced from their homes. Eighty percent of all arms shipments to Israel come from the US in addition to $33 Billion in aid given since 2023, making Israel’s genocide possible. We are very concerned that National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has said, ’the hostages, thankfully, have returned, which was our key demand…And now we need to go back to war'.

October 22, 2025. On Wednesday afternoon three Ithacans were arrested after waiting all day to speak to a staff person at the Binghamton, NY office of Congressional Representative Josh Riley. There were many attempts since May asking Riley’s staff for a meeting, including on Zoom, gone unanswered. Eleven people, including members of the Downtown Berrigan Collective of Ithaca, NY, Veterans for Peace, Broome County Peace Action, the Ithaca Catholic Workers and graduate students came with a list of demands for Congressman Riley.

On Wednesday, members of the Downtown Berrigan Collective (based in Ithaca, NY) and other upstate peace groups visited Congressional Rep Josh Riley's office in Binghamton to confront him with the war crimes that he is complicit in. The office was staffed when we first arrived, but was mysteriously closed by the time we had briefly rallied in front of the building and processed to the office. So we plastered the office entrance with evidence of Israel's and US' crimes, and slid the statement that follows in this thread under the locked door.
