#JonVanCitters is a well liked head of brand management for the #StarTrek franchise, but he/they need to bring in some staff that can look beyond the niche collectors to deliver on time to the mass market.

Murf in #StarTrekProdigy had gone through metamorphosis onscreen before the first official tie-in merchandise was out. Nickelodeon no longer has the tie-in mojo either.

It’s the #Paramount #TMNT team that’s rocking - $1.2 Billion in 2023 tie-in merchandise.

The team on the #ParamountStudios side that took on #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles have made it a tie-in a licensing powerhouse. They moved#TMNT from niche collectors to mainstream again. The #StarTrek #CBSStudios licensing team could really benefit from bringing on some of their colleagues. #JonVanCitters VP of Star Trek brand development clearly loves the franchise but hasn’t seemed to have been able to get the merchandising out of the old niche mindset where we get yet another classic 1701 ornament yearly.
