I dreamt I was walking down a bustling, low-rent street chockfull of old-fashioned local shops. I stopped into one with a black interior - a disused coffeeshop perhaps? Nobody was inside, but there was semi-familiar music playing over a sound system. I quickly left and made my way further down the street and around the corner, ending up on a parallel street in a similarly emptied-out shop. Inside sat a father and son at a card table, engaged in an intense game of gin rummy. The same music was piping out of hidden speakers here. Without looking up from the cards, the father asked me to name the artist of the music. I'd heard it somewhere before, but couldn't precisely place it; it had a sort of post-#Zappa jazz/rock feel to it. Was it #ZoogzRift? Maybe #JohnTrubee and #TheUglyJanitorsOfAmerica? My guesses made my hosts smile & chuckle knowingly to one another.
