I’d agree with this review - read ‘Fanatic Heart’ earlier this year and found it surprisingly dissatisfying: Keneally’s Mitchel is a vacuum lacking psychological depth or indeed any intellectual hinterland and the text leans toward apologetics and sentimentality.
