Trump's agreement mirrors what Robert Pape and John Mearsheimer have been saying all along, an agreement that leaves:

- the Islamic Republic standing
- an even more hardline regime intact
- its military leadership in power
- control of its nuclear arsenal
- regional influence intact

Iran would retain missiles, drones and retain much of the proxy infrastructure it has built across Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen.

So what did we accomplish for a trillion spent, lives lost, global inflation, and our reduced standing in the World?

I've watched recently how Chris Hedges and John Mearsheimer literally laughed over the idea that Russia may pose a threat to Europe, with Mearsheimer putting as an argument that 'Putin made it clear...', which is a ridiculous argument when speaking about a KGB officer.
