If you ever were interested in the Ketogenic Diet (possibly after listening to podcasters like Lex Fridman, Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, What I've Learned, etc.), then please listen to this piece by Rebecca Watson.
Some guy – a firm believer in the keto diet, who is also a giant charlatan – set out for a study to prove once and for all that conventional medical wisdom is outdated and that the ketogenic diet doesn't cause plaque in your arteries.
When he found that the keto diet in fact increased plaque worse than diabetes or obesity, on average by 42% within a year when he expected 0%, he omitted that information from his study.
If you don't want to die from a heart attack in ten years, please don't follow the ketogenic diet.
