The government can step in - say, with a federal #JobsGuarantee - and employ everyone who wants a job but isn't offered one by the public sector, and by definition, this will not crowd out private sector activity.
Less obvious - but still true - is that the private sector is *riddled* with inefficiencies. The idea that Google and Facebook make "efficient" use of capital when they burn billions of dollars to increase their surveillance dragnets is absurd on its face.
