HI-FIve by Red Norvo Quintet, released on RCA Victor in 1957

Hi Five Review by Scott Yanow

This is one of the most obscure Red Norvo LPs and this quintet (with the leader's vibes, Bob Drasnin on flute, clarinet and alto, guitarist Jimmy Wyble, bassist Bob Carter and drummer Bill Douglass) has been long-forgotten. However, their version of cool jazz (a little reminiscent of the Chico Hamilton Quintet in atmosphere) always swings and features plenty of subtle creativity and fine solos from the lead voices.
