The "Zol zayn Shulem" series I wrote, is now featured at the American Jewish Book Council, "Author's on Tour." This organisation is mind blowing, and it is so good to see how many authors of the widest variety of Jewish backgrounds are still trying to write and publish books about Jewish themes, novels, the history of the Shoah, Israel, Antisemitism, religious commentary, biographies on all sorts of lives lived, overcoming trauma, food, love, ...

A nice review of the book I'm traveling around to promote, about Jewish contributions to the modern world over the last 250 years. (For some reason, the review uses an earlier unused version of the cover design, but it's a good, fair review.)

Just received advance copies of "When Einstein Met Kafka: Jewish Contributions to the Modern World," a wonderful book by the Spanish writer Diego Moldes, which I translated and adapted into English.

It comes out on September 15 from Mandel Vilar Press. "When Einstein Met Kafka" is like those "great Jews in history" books that lots of us had when we were kids, except it's written for grown-ups and is about 600 pages long, covering science and inventions, the arts, human rights, politics, sports, business, entertainment, and countless other fields.

Here's a sort of unboxing video (though I'd already opened the box by then). 😀

"When Einstein Met Kafka": A book I translated comes out on Sept. 15!

I've been using the same, small hardcover edition of Siddur Sim Shalom for decades. The pages are soft from turning. I love how there's a wine stain in one place, or handwritten notes on cantillation in another, and how the book opens naturally to the first pages of minḥa or ma'ariv.

But over the years some pages have gotten a bit loose, and I'm starting to fear the binding will self-destruct. So I just got myself the paperback version of the same #siddur, and I'm all excited about that because I am a giant nerd. 🤓

Unfortunately, the print in the paperback version seems a bit smaller to me, at a time in my life when what I kinda need the opposite. The next one I buy will probably be one of those editions that has super-large type and I'll need a stand to hold it.

I just sent the publisher my final edits for my English translation of Diego Moldes's wonderful 700-page nonfiction book "When Einstein Met Kafka: Jewish Contributions to the Modern World," which Mandel Vilar Press will publish this year. That ends a translation and adaptation process that began in 2021!
