Jessie Panazzolo ha sempre avuto una passione per la natura, iniziata quando a soli tre anni ricevette un gorilla di peluche. Desiderosa di diventare una conservazionista, si è trovata a fare i conti con una realtà complessa nel settore della conservazione, dove le prospettive di carriera sono in diminuzione, e dove le condizioni lavorative sono spesso dure. Durante la sua recente intervista con Mongabay, Jessie ha condiviso le sue esperienze e le sfide affrontate da chi lavora in questo campo.
“Il mondo della conservazione non offre molte opportunità di lavoro salvaguardanti”, spiega Jessie. “Ho visto tanti dei miei colleghi affrontare difficoltà mentali e fisiche, alcune delle quali derivano dalla pressione costante di proteggere il nostro pianeta.” Jessie, fondatrice di The Lonely Conservationists e Earth Carer Care, sta portando avanti un’iniziativa per supportare i professionisti della conservazione, offrendo workshop e risorse utili.

Jessie Panazzolo has always had a passion for nature, sparked when at just three years old she received a teddy bear gorilla. Desiring to become a conservationist, she found herself grappling with a complex reality in the conservation sector, where career prospects are dwindling and working conditions are often harsh. During her recent interview with Mongabay, Jessie shared her experiences and the challenges faced by those working in this field.

“The world of conservation doesn’t offer many safeguarding job opportunities,” Jessie explains. “I’ve seen so many of my colleagues struggling with mental and physical difficulties, some of which stem from the constant pressure to protect our planet.” Jessie, founder of The Lonely Conservationists and Earth Carer Care, is spearheading an initiative to support conservation professionals, offering workshops and useful resources.
