Speaking of "bands that should be better known" (although, admittedly, not unknown), Jessica Dobson's band Deep Sea Diver.
Dobson's guitar skills are well known, and she's toured with a bunch of other bands (Beck, The Shins, Conor Oberst, etc).
This was their third album, just before they jumped to Sub Pop for the most recent.

Deep Sea Diver’s wickedly badass new album!
Source: thisisdeepseadiver.comI heard Deep Sea Diver‘s new 2025 album release entitled Billboard Heart for the first time the other night and was blown away by how good it is. The lyrics are amazing, the guitar riffs are absolutely shredded by Jessica Dobson and her vocals demand your undivided attention. Meanwhile, Peter Mansen’s accompanying drums and Elliot Jackson’s synths weave and coalesce the rocking vibes into what will arguably be a strong contender for my album of the year!
