Archangel Ramiel
He’s an archangel or a fallen Watcher angel. He’s mentioned in chapter 6 of the apocryphal Book of Enoch as 1 of the 19 Watchers that sinned & rebelled against God by mating with mortal/human women. Thus, creating offspring/kids called the Nephilim.
The name Ra’am’el means “God has thundered.” This is from the Hebrew Ra’am “thunder” & El “God.”
He’s sometimes confused with Remiel. Ramiel is separately named as a holy angel in some versions of Chapter 2 of the Book of Enoch. Remiel, in turn, is sometimes confused with the angel Jeremiel.
In 1 Enoch, there are leaders of 200 angels who became fallen angels because they took wives, mated with human women, & taught “forbidden” knowledge. Of the 20 leaders mentioned, Ramiel is listed 6th.
Ramiel is also known as Jeremiel. He’s mentioned in 2 Baruch as he who “presides over true visions” & listed as 1 of 7 Holy Angels in 1 Enoch 20:8. In this chapter, he’s described as “1 of the holy angels, whom God set over those who rise.”
Rremiel is the archangel of hope & credited with 2 tasks: he’s responsible for divine visions, & he guides the souls of the faithful into Heaven.
