Remembering Chris Connor on her born day.
It was a fascinating period in the mad men era, young trumpet player comes back from Korea, picks up production job in NY City without any practical history.

Later night jazz, & a sneak peek at an upcoming Fuse 'n Flow radio show.

The second half of today's Fuse 'n Flow features an album in its entirety; originally recorded as a bootleg in 1968, the reels stayed hidden in an attic for more than 50 years before receiving a proper release in 2020 - Thelonious Monk's Palo Alto
Also featured are Kurt Elling, Gabor Azabo, Dana Lauren, and some more Juno nominees and winners, including Ernesto Cervini, Renee Rosnes, Nikki Yanofsky, and Caity Gyorgy

1. Johnny Hartman
2. Ella Fitzgerald
3. Sarah Vaughan
Just 3 of so many.
I listen to a lot of radio. I guess I like voices.
Last week I heard an interview with this jazz singer who’s being commemorated with her own Canadian stamp.
She was so exuberant and upbeat in the interview. That I’ve never heard of her before is not so unusual, but she’s been around for a long while.
Eleanor Collins is 103.🎶
