The New Boss Guitar of George Benson is the debut studio album by American jazz/soul guitarist George Benson released in 1964 under Prestige Records

Review by Alex Henderson

George Benson was only 21 when, on May 1, 1964, he recorded his first album as a leader, The New Boss Guitar of George Benson. At that point, the guitarist had yet to become a huge name in jazz, although many of those who knew him for his work with Jack McDuff's group (which he joined in 1962) agreed that he showed great potential. Benson still had some growing to do in 1964, but even so, this is an impressive debut. The guitarist had developed a distinctive, recognizable sound on his instrument, and he plays with both feeling and technique...

Pat's previous Side-Eye release was featured here 986 days ago (!), and was a live album recorded in NYC.

The band on the European leg (Chris Fishman—keys, Joe Dyson—drums) join Pat, and the "+" is comprised of many additional players, including a vocal group.

Metheny is one of those artists who you know from the first note, and these new compositions are welcome.

Green Is Beautiful is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded in 1970 and released on the Blue Note label.

The Allmusic review by Steve Huey awarded the album 3 stars and stated "Green Is Beautiful finds the guitarist growing more comfortable with harder, funkier R&B than he seemed on the softer-hued Carryin' On... Green Is Beautiful proves that Green's reinvention as a jazz-funk artist wasn't the misguided disaster it was initially made out to be". - Wikipedia
