Okay, remember a few days ago when I showed this Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Calendar on its nice brown leather strap, asked if it seemed like a proper "summer watch", and decided nope?

Waitaminnit now, here it is on the lovely shiny bracelet JLC introduced after I'd bought my watch!

This is quite a transformation! I mean, the leather remains excellent in its way, but the way all this metal re-frames the dial and its color presents the watch in a whole different light.

And... a metal bracelet can be rinsed off as needed, and when you combine that with this watch's entirely decent if not undersea-adventure-grade 5 bar water resistance rating (that even with the existence of all those setting buttons on the sides of the case) – dammit, THIS IS A SUMMER WATCH NOW!

And I've been wearing it as such.

Does this feel to you like a summer watch?

The light face seems like it's tropical-climes-ready... but it's a pretty fancy formal-ish thing, and this leather strap (while refreshingly informal compared to the usual fancy-watch allodiles and crocogators) isn't the sort of thing which stands up well to extended use in the sweaty season.

So I'm gonna say "maybe not." But what do you say?
