During a visit to the Qosh Tepa district of Jawzjan province, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Administration Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi met with local officials, scholars, and residents, where he offered prayers for the souls of the martyrs and stressed the urgent need to address community challenges.
Mawlavi Hanafi underscored the importance of national unity and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing ongoing development projects in the region. To improve water access, he announced that a new water sub-canal will be constructed from the Qosh Tepa Canal, a move expected to boost local irrigation and support livelihoods.

The Ministry of Interior announced that the Counter-Narcotics Police conducted separate operations resulting in the seizure of 309kgs of narcotics in Kunduz, 186kgs in Helmand, and a narcotics factory along with dozens of liters of wine and fermented raisins in Jawzjan.
Additionally, five individuals were arrested in connection with the smuggling and sale of the seized substances. Following initial investigations, they will be handed over to judicial and legal authorities for further proceedings.
