We saw a probably old male javelina tonight coming through the wash. Their whole herd was there and in proper javi fashion this fella was quite weary of our presence and ready to make us leave.

Lots of my Perpetual Journal entries lately seem to be of birds...here’s a Ladder-backed Woodpecker, found in deserts in the SW US. We observe them fairly regularly in our Tucson, AZ yard (we rarely see Red Crossbills though).
