I just rewatched #BlueBayou (2021) which is about a Korean adoptee who was adopted as an infant & who is being deported after living in the US for over 30 yrs because his adoptive parents never did the paperwork to grant him US citizenship, which is a pretty relevant topic these days.

JustinChon (who wrote, directed & acted in the leading role in the film) was criticized (wrongly IMO) for usurping the story, which I personally was not aware of before I saw the movie.

The movie also stars #AliciaViklander who plays Justin's wife in the movie.

Kudos to Viklander to takes on such a broad range of roles which range from this film to #TombRaider to #JasonBourne to #TheDanishGirl

The movie ends in a heartbreaking scene, as Chon's character is about to be escorted onto a plane headed to South Korea where he has has no connections, doesn't speak the language, doesn't know the culture & doesn't have a clue about how he's going to make a living there.

I rate the movie a 7 out of 10.

Altijd als ik de televisiereclame van #Emirates kijk, moet ik aan #JasonBourne denken en verwacht een dodelijke schietpartij of wilde achtervolging op het vliegveld. Maar niets van dat alles. #Saai.
