Declaro oficialmente a Pulp como mi banda favorita en vivo. O quizás solo sea el éxtasis después de un concierto lleno de emociones, convirtiendo el Movistar Arena en una fiesta total. El comienzo fue tranquilo con Sorted for E’s & Wizz –cuyos primeros acordes escuchamos mientras corríamos por el pasillo para incorporarnos a la cancha– y luego se desató la algarabía del público con Disco 2000. ¡Qué mejor manera de encender los ánimos para el resto de la noche! Si Jarvis Cocker no es el mejor frontman del rock en la actualidad, pega en el palo.
Pulp ha de ser la banda que más ha subido en mi ranking personal de favoritos, especialmente después después de verlos por primera vez en vivo en Fauna Primavera el 2023. Desde entonces cruzaba los dedos por un concierto de ellos en solitario. Anoche se cumplió mi deseo. Me pregunto, ¿Qué tiene esta banda que la hace tan especial? Puede ser que su música se mueve en un rango preciso entre pop y rock muy noventero, pero muy original. Que sus melodías provoquen ganas de bailar de manera automática, incluso en aquellas canciones que parecen calmadas y melancólicas. La mezcla de esa melancolía, emoción y alegría en una misma canción que puede parecer confuso, pero causan un nudo de emociones en el pecho que a ratos se desata, estalla y quieres gritar, cantar y bailar. Una sensación difícil de describir con palabras.
Por otro lado, la banda no se vale solo de sus viejos y clásicos hits. Aunque estuvo centrado en Different Class y el más reciente More. como era de esperar, se dan espacio para repasar gran parte de su discografía y tocar canciones que están lejos de haber sido grandes éxitos, sin embargo para Pulp suenan como si fueran hits de estadio. Incluso, luego de cerrar con el que es sin duda su mayor y más representativo éxito, Common People, pasaron directo al encore con A Sunset –El cierre del disco More.–, Seconds y el final definitivo tocando por primera en vivo Open Strings, lado B del single Spike Island, dedicada al fallecido bajista de la banda, Steve Mackey.
Mientras termino de escribir estas palabras, mi corazón vuelve a latir más fuerte recordando las emociones vividas anoche. Una jornada difícil de repetir y que quedará como uno de mis conciertos favoritos de este año.

Lovelife is the third and final studio album by English rock band Lush. It was released on 18 March 1996 by 4AD. On Lovelife, the band moved away from their earlier dream pop and shoegazing style and embraced a more Britpop-oriented sound.

..All of the ballads on Lovelife are rooted in the hazy dream pop of the early '90s, but they are given stylish, mod arrangements complete with muted brass. Even more startling is the Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood pastiche of "Ciao!," an irresistible duet between Miki Berenyi and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker. Lovelife simply would have been an embarrassing attempt to seem fashionable if the band hadn't succeeded in updating its sound. However, Lush has been able to recreate itself as a pop band and the result is its most direct -- and arguably most rewarding -- album.

Different Class (released in Japan as Common People) is the fifth studio album by English rock band Pulp, released on 30 October 1995 by Island Records.
The inspiration for the title came to frontman Jarvis Cocker in Smashing, a club night that ran during the early 1990s in Eve's Club on Regent Street in London. Cocker had a friend who used the phrase "different class" to describe something that was "in a class of its own". Cocker liked the double meaning, with its allusions to the British social class system, which was a theme of some of the songs on the album.[6] A message on the back of the record also references this idea:
