@giflian I used to listen to “Angels Bend Closer” album by Jane Siberry to fall asleep. It was consistently like waves of the ocean with repeated listening.

I used to alternate with listening to “One Cello X 16” & “One Cello x 16: Natoma” by Zoë Keating.

Those were guaranteed on repeated listing to settle everything down for sleep, for me.

I loaned the album (The Walking) to #DerekGuille who was a presenter on #ABC #radio #Melbourne at the time.

He loved it. He used this long song for his toilet breaks.

#AlternateFridayMusic for October 24 2025 the word is "Vast"

Artist: Jane Siberry
Album: No Borders Here (1984)
Song: Mimi On The Beach

and he's going to take those mountains
and shove them into the valleys
until there's nothing left but a vast expanse
and you'll float there, Mimi
on the flat Sargasso sea of your soul

I couldn't think of anything this morning but this one came to me later. This was Siberry's breakthrough hit in Canada, and it bugs me that I can only find the video for the single edit, not the full seven-minute version. Truly one of Canada's strangest homegrown talents.

Anyone else a fan of #NoBordersHere by #JaneSiberry? It's one of those albums where I love every damn song! Maybe it's because it came out as I was finishing up college, heavy into my college radio station. Highly recommend! Check out your favorite music streaming service or youtube for some playlists.
