Did another thing with #jai and wrote a little post about it: https://allyourfaultforever.com/posts/hello-wavpacker/
One of the really neat ideas that I picked up lurking in the Moonworks community was building a “static audio atlas” for sfx that works by loading a single wav file and initializing in-game audio buffers using regions of the loaded wav data. While I can imagine there is a list of many benefits to this practice it would be dishonest to suggest that I pursued it for any reason other than personal aesthetics and fun. I know that FMOD does something similar to this with it’s bank files so it’s not entirely unusual. :D
Ok, I've built up my #c hot-reload example. It works great on windows, mac, and linux so far.
But I've got an odd situation on mac now. The debugger can't resolve any symbols in the game.dylib. On Windows and Linux I can step through just fine.
In my #jai version I can step into the dll without a problem on mac. So it's what.. something to do with my build that doesn't agree with lldb?
Started my adventure with #jai this past week.

Apropos hot-reloading, @superfunc since you’re someone I’m aware of that’s using hot reloading in a C app I’d love it if you had feedback or caveats to share.
My next phase will be looking into the allocators provided and thinking about how this works with more complicated memory usage.
Hello Jai! Link to heading I was recently added to the Jai private beta which has apparently been steadily increasing the number of early users. Seeing some of the really cool and interesting tools and workflows being built with it for the sokoban game (Thekla’s currently-in-development next game) pushed my curiosity into overdrive and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to experience Jai at this stage.
