C.J.H.3 ππͺΏπ₯πI've seen Scott Metzger play a lot of guitar over the past 10 years but 99% of it has been with #jrad. I usually hang with the folks right in front of him in "Metzgerville" and know damn well how good he is, but I'm not sure I realized how great of a player he actually was until I caught a couple of #LaMP shows. I mean, this brother can really ball.

Reading Jesse's Pitchfork piece on Bobby gave me a way of thinking about the Dead I hadn't really considered, though it's completely obvious in retrospect.
Spent the whole Saturday JRAD show watching through this lens and it's quite clear that in that band Tom is the Bobby and Scott is the Jerry even though they sing the opposite's songs (and despite the fact that Tom sincerely believes himself to be the Jerry of the band).
Watching Joe Russo play drums is one of my favorite things. #jrad
