I played Viticulture solo, against the Automa, and I totally get why this game is a classic.

Beautifully crafted, satisfying to play, and that worker placement tension between summer and winter never gets old. Loved every minute of it.

Hello everyone!\nToday we’re heading to the vineyards of Tuscany, Italy. Who hasn’t dreamed of being a wine producer at least once?\nGame Overview Viticulture Essential Edition is a 2015 release for 1–6 players, ages 14+, with a playtime of 45-90 minutes. It was designed by Jamey Stegmaier and Alan Stone, illustrated by Beth Sobel, and published by Stonemaier Games. The original Viticulture was first published in 2013; the Essential Edition followed in 2015 and is the version to get today.\n

Aquatica: Cold Waters is the first expansion for Aquatica, and it genuinely makes the game shine. New characters with Delayed Effects, new locations, and the Tribes module that replaces the Goal Tracks entirely.

If you loved the base game, this one is an easy recommendation.

Cold Waters is an expansion and builds on everything the base game introduces.\nToday I want to share my thoughts on Aquatica: Cold Waters, the first expansion for Aquatica. Does it add something meaningful, or is it just more of the same? In my experience, it genuinely makes the game shine.\nGame Overview Aquatica: Cold Waters is a 2020 expansion for Aquatica, designed by Ivan Tuzovsky and published by Cosmodrome Games. It extends the game to up to 5 players and introduces several optional modules that you can mix and match as you see fit. The expansion adds new Ocean Characters, new Locations, new Kings, new Mantas, and a brand new game mechanic, the Tribes, that replaces the Goal Tracks entirely.\n

March was a great month at the gaming table! 15 plays across 10 games, two of them brand new to me. Dice Throne Adventures stole the show, but there was also a lovely surprise with Alhambra at a cosy local board game café, some tense moments with Dawn of the Zeds, and a very satisfying narrow win in Viticulture.

Merchants Cove is a beautiful, heavily asymmetric Euro game where every player is basically playing a completely different game. I've tested 5 of the 11 merchants so far and I already know this collection is going to keep me busy for a long time! 😊
