Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said that ongoing settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank is being carried out with full support from the US administration, including coordination with President Donald Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Ambassador Mike Huckabee, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Smotrich’s office stated that more than 51,000 housing units have been approved in the occupied West Bank since 2022. He also confirmed the reestablishment of the Sa-Nur settlement, evacuated two decades ago, with families already residing there, adding that more settlements would be established soon.
He further called for preparations for the “full conquest” of the Gaza Strip and the establishment of Israeli settlements there.
Israeli occupation authorities have barred the entry of Palestinian food products coming from the West Bank into occupied Jerusalem, in a move that has caused widespread disruption in the Palestinian food industry sector and led to significant financial losses for supplying companies.
After a series of field procedures, companies were officially informed of an Israeli decision banning the entry of dairy products into Jerusalem, under a justification issued by the Israeli ministries of health and agriculture, without providing detailed explanations regarding the reasons or duration of the decision.
These measures reinforce the isolation of the West Bank from Jerusalem and further tighten Israel’s control over Palestinian territory.
