40 people were eventually arrested. They were charged with misdemeanors and are expected to be released.

Either most of the protestors relocated or a new protest began by the evening rush hour in downtown #Chicago, near Clark and Adams Streets. This group eventually marched to LaSalle Street and Wacker Drive, where they have completely shut down traffic in both directions on Wacker Drive.

One protestor who became violent with police before eventually being arrested, was caught on camera and the footage has been played repeatedly on the news.☹️

Similar protests occurred in several other America cities, including #NewYorkCity, #SanFrancisco, #Philadelphia, and #SanAntonio #Texas.

[To explain some local terminology: with Chicago news media, "outbound traffic" does NOT mean "traffic which is leaving the airport," but instead means "any major road which is going away from the Chicago city center."]
