For over a year, #Israel, Washington and even #Lebanon’s government have been speaking as if #Hezbollah has been broken for good.

Yet the #Lebanese armed movement is once again at war with Israel, striking its enemy in response to the #US-Israeli war on #Iran.

Its performance on the battlefield and ability to strike deep into Israeli territory shows that Hezbollah treated its 15 months of ceasefire with Israel not as an end to war, but as a narrow and urgent window to rebuild, reorganise and prepare for what it believed would inevitably come next.

Lebanese #healthcare workers and officials say #Israeli bombings have deliberately targeted #medical workers and facilities in south #Lebanon, including through the use of double-tap strikes, in what they describe as a systematic effort to make the area unlivable.

Since the war began on 2 March, #Israel has struck at least 128 medical facilities and #ambulances across south Lebanon, killing 40 healthcare workers and wounding 107, according to the Lebanese ministry of health. The war started when #Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel, triggering an Israeli #military campaign.

Most of the strikes on medics happened while they were sitting in ambulances or at first aid centres...

BEIRUT, LEBANON—In early October 2025, #Lebanese #paramedic Haj Qassem Sultan stood outside Marjayoun Government Hospital in southern Lebanon and addressed Lebanese TV.

“Our message is clear. Even if we are killed one by one, we will not abandon our duty,” he said. “We will continue to serve Khiam and Marjayoun and Al-Taybeh and Debbine and all of our sacred land.”

He was attending a memorial for seven of his colleagues who were killed...

On Friday, Sultan was killed in another Israeli strike on an Islamic Health Authority (IHA) medical center in Burj Qalaouiyah...

BEIRUT, LEBANON—Mustafa Arout was forced to flee his home in Mais al-Jabal, a town in southern #Lebanon, before dawn on Tuesday as the Israeli military issued mass displacement orders to dozens of communities in the area and launched a wave of heavy airstrikes.

“We don’t know where to go,” Arout told #DropSiteNews in a phone interview while still on the road. His voice shook as he spoke. They reached Saida after a grueling 12-hour drive that would normally take two hours.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military escalated and issued a sweeping displacement order for all residents in Lebanon south of the #LitaniRiver. The order was accompanied by a map (below).
