So what's with the online elimination of ancient Israelite Sealings having letters from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem? No other online collection seems to have been taken down there. I first noticed this several weeks ago. For example: Photo online at: https://www.imj.org.il/en/collections/369218-0

This looks like pure knowledge suppression to me because all these sealing texts are all turning out to be in Alphabetic Akkadian and not in Hebrew.

Among the rare archaeological evidence of an actual #crucifixion is the heel bone (complete with #nail) of a man named #Yehohanan (today at
#IsraelMuseum) who died in the 1st century AD - and whose burial was found at Giv'at ha-Mivtar, East #Jerusalem in 1968:

In a stone box, the only trace of crucifixion

An ossuary at the Israel Museum contains the sole physical evidence ever found for the Roman practice of execution on the cross

My wife and I were living in #Israel when #Rabin was assassinated. That was a horrible night. It happened while we were attending a jazz concert at the #IsraelMuseum. I can still remember getting on the bus to go home after the concert. It was dead silent except for the news playing on the radio. My Hebrew isn't great, but it's better than my wife's, so I was trying to translate what the newscaster was saying.
Honestly, it's been all down-hill since then.

I took some photos for reference at the Israel Museum yesterday and today I made this drawing of one of my favorite masks seen there, a "grumpy old man" mask from Japan.
