Jimi Hendrix at the Isle of Wight Festival.
I know I've posted this more than once before, but bear with me - his "All Along The Watchtower" is one of those covers that really is better than the original.

Good article about Miles Davis and the IOW festival.
Miles Davis played the biggest gig of his career when he brought his groundbreaking new Bitches Brew band to the 1970 Isle of Wight Music Festival, still the largest ever music event to take place in the UK. Jon Newey was there to witness this historic weekend
Thanks to Metafilter for reminding me of this:
I visited a UK holiday hotspot and discovered the perfect family day out for teenagers
#IsleOfWightFestival early bird tickets went on sale, and The Price Is Wight website has gone down under the load. You’d think when we invented the WWW we’d have thought about the fact that if something doesn’t work people will keep refreshing a webpage and making the load even worse, but we didn’t! 😂
Anyway, got them through ticketmaster instead, same price just more scrubbing to make myself clean afterwards.
What the posh loos look like at the #IsleofWightFestival if you were interested. £59.50 for the weekend, not cheap. I used them once, at the end of each day, at £19.83 a tinkle I’m not sure I will get them another year.
Not having to queue at all, plus them being so clean did make me feel like I could drink as much water as I wanted to stay hydrated, but that’s still a lot of money!
