Iron Beam, a 100-kilowatt Iaser system, is the latest component in Israel’s air-defense system with existing systems including: Iron Dome for short-range rockets, David’s Sling for medium-range threats, and Arrow 2 and 3 for ballistic missiles.

Iron Beam is designed for a specific need - it targets slow, low-flying threats that can escape or overwhelm radar-guided interceptors, allowing missile interceptors to be reserved for larger and more complex threats.
