Iris des Marais / Iris Faux Acore / Iris Jaune (Iris pseudacorus), une belle plante qu'on peut rencontrer dans les zones humides.
Si vous en voyez vous pouvez chercher l'adulte (qui mesure 4 à 5 mm) du Charançon de l'Iris des Marais (Mononychus punctumalbum, photos 7-8 et 9) dans les fleurs, sa larve se nourrit des graines (photos 5-6) de l'Iris des Marais.

Yellow iris / Yellow flag / Water flag (Iris pseudacorus), a beautiful plant which can be seen in wetlands.
If you see one you can try to search for the Mononychus punctumalbum weevil (photos 7-8 and 9) in flowers, its larvae feeds on this plant's seeds (photos 5-6).

I’m not finished with irises just yet. After I had photographed the Siberian iris I mentioned yesterday, I remembered that I had seen yellow flowers that looked very similar. I realized that I did not have any photos of them yet so I decided to go and find them the next day. Fortunately it wasn’t too difficult.

This is a yellow iris, rather unsurprisingly. Unlike the Siberian iris, the yellow iris is native to Finland and a quite common plant growing next to water. We call it “kurjenmiekka” (crane’s sword).
