Anyone know who to talk to at #SES / #Intelsat and/or #Eutelsat to get #narrowband #SCPC (or #MCPC for Audio / #Radio bandwith)?

Cuz I imagine something like that wouldn't be that expensive given that it's like easy to mux & demux and requiring less bandwith than an actual TV or radio station broadcast...

OFC people will rightfully point at #IridiumBurst ¹ and #Iridium #SBD ² but those require #subscriptions ³ & expensive, custom devices⁴ and whilst in turn one can send free #SMS to #Iridium devices, those are limited to like 50 and one can't use a nice #API to basically make them.

Plus 270-1890 bytes (!!!) is not enough to do proper #E2EE with sufficiently-large keys in #PGP encryption!

Cuz a C-band mesh reflector & LNB is at least feasible to obtain and setup in most places that have no Internet.

@dbread @ticho @delta @torproject Seriously, I'd rather use #CryptoBro stuff like #BlockstreamSatellite ¹ to message people because it's cheaper than #IridiumBurst ² and doesn't require them to have a contract & expensive device or me know their #IMEI and coarse location.
