So I voted for #PeopleBeforeProfit yesterday in the general elections for Ireland. Not sure how much of a difference my vote will make, but let's see what happens.

Ireland's coalition parties are set to trounce Sinn Fein in local council elections, dealing a blow to the left-wing party's national election hopes.

With a quarter of votes counted, Fine Gael and Fianna Fail each have around 24%, while Sinn Fein trails at 11%.

"We didn't win the seats we expected," says Sinn Fein's David Cullinane.
