In combination with the words 'Am heddwch a tangnefedd', #runes from the Welsh druidic alphabet, known as 'Coelbren y Beirdd', are also carved into the oak - an alphabet invented in the C18th by everyone's favourite rogue literary forger, #IoloMorgannwg.
Original to north Wales, this stunning example of #VernacularFurniture was found in Yorkshire, of all places. Good to have it home again. 🏴
