Perched on the banks of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, Urquhart Castle offers sweeping lake views framed by rugged hills and dense forests. The historic ruins, rich in tales of clans and battles, evoke the region’s turbulent medieval past. A Scottish flag flutters proudly above the stone walls, enhancing the charm for those drawn to #UrquhartCastle and #HistoricRuins. Surrounded by serene waters and vast green landscapes, the spot is a favourite for #NaturePhotography and a must-see highlight of #ScottishHighlands exploration.

Will #pluginpv pay fort itself in #Britain, even though it’s more cloudy than Germany? Short answer: YES!

We calculated cost recovery scenarios for #London and #Inverness: We took the average local electricity prices, assumed the system would cost around €500 or £430, which is a third more expensive than a comparable system in Germany. And for London we assumed south facing for Inverness west facing and hanging at 90° or horizontally.

In both scenarios we get cost recovery well within the lifespan of such a system. In London within five years and in Inverness in around 10 years.

Community discussion from Inverness

The Bike Shed screening of Fires and Fascism offered a diverse range of topics. As ever there are threads that link them all!

Burning of muirs is (sorry...) a hot topic. While there's traditional land management which includes intentional burning, how do bloodsports - grouse shooting and the like - fit into this! Wealthy landowners are a small proportion of the population and yet, they have a lot of the land, on which they do these activities.

A sense of belonging should be accessible to everyone, and some raised the positive perspective that XR has enhanced a feeling of connection for autistic people.

But communities may need mediation, for issues within themselves or with others. Tensions can arise over things like the location of a bottle bank - perhaps no surprise when space simply isn't accessible to everyone.

Third spaces and venues like the Bike Shed are essential. When so much space is owned by the wealthy few, where can communities find a home?

First bumble bee of the season today!

A few catkins on the highest branches of a nearby Goat willow (Salix caprea) have opened and a solitary bee was buzzing around them, too far from me for a picture, sadly.

Goat willows are perceived as rather mundane trees, but their catkins will soon be surrounded by hungry bees at a time of year when there aren't many other native species flowering in North Highland.
