I was once handed the text of a speech by my (big) boss to translate in advance of a high protocol international event where I was #interpreting.

A naively/unintentionally inflammatory speech that would have burned bridges at best and possibly started an international incident.

I took it to my supervisor and said I "had some concerns" about the text.

He read it, understood, and went through channels to fix it.

Machine #translation cannot do that.
