Since September or October I've been working with Internet-in-a-Box to update their #OpenStreetMap offering. I don't think I've said a thing about it here but I've been posting weekly videos on friggin LinkedIn of all places. That's good for shameless self-promotion but the Fediverse is really the home for it.

The problem is, based on my experience I don't think mastodon.social can really handle 3 minute videos. I'll probably have to get a Peertube account.

Does anybody have one of these? Does anyone know of any actual use - as in know personally.
Imagine it would be fairly slow - is that accurate?
Have any preppers utilized these in their survival kits?
I’m looking for at least secondhand knowledge. Not hearsay or not pure hearsay. Any hands on evaluations of their limitations after one year of use?

Я просто в шоке.... оказывается, вещи о которых я размышлял в духе "было бы круто", существуют, но практически не известны в моих краях. Один из таких примеров #internetinabox Да,да, я знаю что в сети меня окружают люди которые знают всё, обо всём, спокойно, у меня тоже есть доступ к поисковику. По моему это один из тех проектов которые действительно могут "изменять мир к лучшему" не на словах, а на деле.

Netti toimii tässä tapauksessa ilman verkkoa, offlinepakettina, johon on ladattu mm Wikipedia, Khan Academy, TED puheita, open streetin karttoja yms.

Now I’m learning Linux, about to get that #internetinabox, and really thinking about running my own entire server. On solar power.
