One of the truly special places in Monterey Bay is Hopkins Marine Station, which has a restricted cove and beach, allowing many of the local Harbor Gals a safe place to Pup.
Around here, activity is pretty high in the late March through April time frame.

The last few summers Monterey has been host to a rather large collection of migratory Sea Lions, usually taking over the stretch of beaches between Fisherman's Warf and San Carlos Beach from late July to early September.
Unlike some of the other Seals that hang here, Seal Lions are not chill...

Here is one more Elephant Seal pic from Año Nuevo State Park - We almost did not spot him on the walk down to the beach. You wouldn't think that something that large could blend in, but He was giving it his best try.
