The International Criminal Court’s 25th anniversary and World International Justice Day

After World War II, the international community – for the first time in history – took steps towards recognising two international crimes: the crime against humanity (at the Nuremberg trials) and the crime of genocide (at the Tokyo trials; to bolster these efforts, in 1948 the United Nations (UN) adopted its Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide).
