Today, on the #InternationalDayOfLight, the #Light for #PublicHealth initiative launches. It's an "evidence-based public health messaging on the non-visual effects of ocular light exposure".

Our event for the #internationaldayoflight is in full swing! On Hugenottenplatz in Erlangen, our scientists will be giving exciting short talks on topics related to #quantumscience. Visitors can try out some of the experiments for themselves and find out what - and how - research is being carried out at the #MPL. So come along until 4 p.m.!

From 5 p.m., there will be more exciting lectures, lab tours and the film "Tracing Light" at our institute at Staudtstraße 2.

Happy #InternationalDayOfLight! The myriad ways that humans harness light is vital for powering our modern society. As an astrophysicist, I already had an appreciation for the deep understanding of light and how to measure it that underpins the entirety of the subject. My recent research on #artificiallight and its #ecological impacts have given me a further respect for lights role mediating our ecosystems.
