I thought I should follow up on my post on what to do if you are injured by the cops.

Understand that you do not have to seek redress from the 🐖🐷🥓. You do not have to do anything at all with your documentation.

But document the incident and the aftermath while it is fresh, because, if at some point in the future you NEED this information, you cannot go back in time to assemble it.

Attached: 1 video 🐖 🐷 🐖 🐷 🐖 IF YOU GET INJURED BY THE COPS: 🐖 🐷 🐖 🐷 🐖 1. Seek care immediately. Hospital staff are absolutely familiar with police brutality, so do not worry about telling them what occurred. 2. Document the shit out of every mark. Take photos. Go to a walk-in clinic or your doctor to get an official record of what they did. 3. Speak to a therapist. Tell them how the incident has affected you. If you are up to it afterwards, speak to a movement-aligned lawyer. #DefundDisarmDismantle #PoliceDontKeepUsSafe #PoliceDontPreventCrime

I was initially looking forward to blaring the song as part of the festivities tonight outside Toronto Police Services HQ.

It's rare that I take off the orange hat of Legal Observer and put on the organizer hat.

Unfortunately, plans took a turn over the weekend as it became clear that there was going to be ACTUAL police violence on the day of, instead of just itemizing all the previous incidents at a rally.

And man are there a LOT of incidents.

But earlier this week, the motherfuckers really tried to make it about being caught on film and not their shit behaviour.

Let's see how much self-control they exhibit tonight after taking a beating in fash media for their handling of actions at the AGO and Kasa Moto.

It's worth taking a cop watch training* for a much more detailed understanding of police tactics and markers. It will be specific to your area, so that you know what to look for with your local policing bodies.

It may or may not involve learning about dearrest techniques — which is a separate topic — and none of it is mandatory. If today you are only comfortable stopping and watching the cops as they interact with members of the public, it's a good and helpful step on your journey.

(That is not a shameless plug, as I only teach preliminaries as part of a broader rights-training and sousveillance session.)

Cries of “Shame! Shame!” rang out through a #Vancouver gallery Wednesday (March 15) as the families of #Indigenous and #Black people #killed by #police in #BritishColumbia and #Canada gathered to mark #InternationalDayAgainstPoliceBrutality .

The #GalleryGachet space is lined with dozens of sewn #art pieces, displaying the names of a fraction of the people who have #died following #ViolentInteraction with police in Canada.
