On board the #DeutscheBahn 🇩🇪 #InterCityExpress #116, northbound over the scenic #Tauernbahn 🇦🇹 line. This #ICE4 trainset has got a #DB #Bordrestaurant #DiningCar, with a bar area and table seating. A good spot for lunch. Chicken curry and a Bavarian beer 🍺, always a good choice. @diningcar

Nothing against the @bahn but #Schnellzug currently sounds better than #ICE.

In the #UnitedStates , ICE stands for deportations, as we know them in #Europe from #Germany.

In Germany, ICE stands for #IntercityExpress – but people in #Minneapolis don't know that.

Although trains in this country struggle with punctuality, they no longer have anything to do with #deportation.

No more paper menus it seems, so one has to choose from a digital menu. Opening it, obviously requires a mobile data network, which in Germany …

Leaving #Hamburg 🇩🇪 Hbf in a southerly direction, our #InterCityExpress #ICE soon passes the #Elbe River bridges, where we overtake a freight train hauled by a former #DB Class 140 electric from 1958. She now belongs to a private operator and looks quite elegant in her blue livery.
