“There is no method of reasoning more common, and yet none more blameable, than, in philosophical disputes, to endeavour the refutation of any hypothesis, by a pretence of its dangerous consequences to religion and morality.” — David Hume, An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding

WE?
"We got to stop saying 'we'"
- Michael Parenti

the trouble with saying "we" is you are creating a community of interest between these policy makers, the U.S. leaders, and us. that's just what they want.

“When a democracy is designed with this capacity for authoritarianism you’re never more than one election away from its reappearance. That’s not an accident, that’s a design flaw.”

Many, many Americans who should know better, like the Americans in this article, continue to downplay the extreme danger they are in. They need to understand that they are under a fascist dictatorship RIGHT NOW. Instead, they refer in an anodyne way to the "authoritarianism" and "autocracy" of Trump and his nominally "Republican" Party, and how its unconstitutionality is "troubling." FFS, Wake the F up.

@mattperkins exactly. I was just fuming at one of those accounts which go on about how wonderful the white race is and how everything good in the world has come from whites, but then says he can't personally be blamed for what slave traders and imperialists did 200 years ago. So they'll take collective credit but not collective blame?
