Members of XR Highlands, Islands and Inverness hand-delivered a letter to insurance broker Howden in Elgin to call on staff and managers to stop insurance for new oil and gas infrastructure.

That's why this week we have been to the biggest insurers of fossil fuel projects, including Lloyds of London (the world's largest insurer of fossil fuels), AIG (a leading insurer of US coal), and Howden, to tell them to stop enabling climate destruction.

Just 20 companies insure 70% of fossil fuel projects and a large number of these companies are based in the UK, mostly in the City of London.

Without insurance, major oil and gas projects would not be able to operate.

Today, rebels from Oxford joined groups from across the country at the doorstop of the companies enabling climate destruction. We'll keep up the pressure until fossil fuels are uninsurable!
