Kunst. Was ist das?
Individuell. Persönlich. Für jeden anders. Für mich der Raum, in dem sich Erklärliches auflöst, neue Erscheinungsebenen erobert werden, dadurch alles erklärlich wird. Und Emotionen. Kunst lässt nicht kalt. Ganz gleich in welcher Form, durch welche Technik, über welches Darstellungsmittel sie zum Ausdruck kommt.
Kunst ist nicht parametrisierbar, Kunst ist frei. Kunst darf alles, kann alles, soll alles. Kunst macht frei.
Harter Stoff, so weit muss man erst mal kommen. Für mich das Ideal. Mein Weg.
Art. What is it?
Individual. Personal. Different for every person. For me, it is the space where the explainable dissolves, where new levels of perception are explored, and through which everything becomes explainable. And emotions. Art does not affect us indifferently. No matter in what form, through what technique, or by what means of expression it is presented.
Art cannot be defined by parameters; art is free. Art is allowed to do anything, capable of anything, meant to do anything. Art sets you free.
Tough stuff – that’s the point. Ideal for me, my way.

Das heutige Instax-Bild ist ganz klar unklar. Ein gutes Symbolbild für heute. Es wird ein spannender Tag, jedenfalls für mich. Linol-Druckfarben selbst anreiben, so wie die alten Pinselmeister. Rubens und Vermeer sind nahe. Na ja, fast so. Aber das Gefühl ist ähnlich. Und ich freue mich gewaltig auf diese Büchse der Pandora, die ich mutmaßlich gleich öffnen werde. Garantie auf Erfolg gibt es keine. Trotzdem! Gerade deshalb. Ich brauche das jetzt. Öffnet sich jetzt ein neues Feld für meine Linolschnitte?

Today’s Instax photo is decidedly unclear. A fitting metaphor for today. It’s going to be an exciting day – for me, at least. Manually grinding linocut printing block ink, just like the old masters of the brush. Rubens and Vermeer are close at my side. Well, almost. But the feeling is similar. And I’m really looking forward to this Pandora’s box, which I’m likely to open any moment now. There’s no guarantee of success. Nevertheless! Precisely because of that. I need this right now. Is a new field opening up for my linocuts?

Ein Märchen von Gestaltwandlern und Schubladen
Im Kaffeehaus saß eine illustre Menge Menschen. Junge, alte, schöne, besondere. Sie lauschten dem Märchenerzähler, der aus alter Zeit berichtete. Damals, als ein Schmied noch ein Schmied war, ein Schneider noch ein Schneider. Da wusste man, wer was war, wer was konnte, was von ihm zu erwarten war. Gute alte Zeit. Schmunzelnd packte der Bildhauer seine Staffelei zusammen, schob seine Kamera in die Tasche, trank den letzten Schluck Espresso und gab dem Küchenchef das Menü für heute Abend bekannt.

An illustrious crowd sat in the coffee house. Young, old, beautiful, unusual. They listened to the storyteller as he recounted tales from days gone by. Back when a blacksmith was still a blacksmith, and a tailor was still a tailor. Back then, people knew who was who, what each person could do, and what to expect from them. The good old days. Smiling, the sculptor packed up his easel, slipped his camera into his bag, took the last sip of his espresso and told the kitchen chef what was on the menu for that evening.
