@landley also most those "#LLM"s do is being a shitty version of #CleverBot with some #InstantAnswers from #DuckDuckGo and a way worse interface and options than #WolframAlpha.

I don't see how anyone thinks that's revolutionary, cuz actual #AI's like @Hoppel do exist but take years to train in realtime, since they learn not dissimilar from children...

@AuZL this ties in with most tests of #ChatGPT and #GithubCopilot:

Both do well in basic questions and boilerplate code and their answers are on-par to unrefined #DuckDuckGo #InstantAnswers from #StackOverflow...

They do work for well-documented (abeit hidden) features and code.

They only fall flat on their face when it comes to bleeding-edge stuff...

As much as one can criticize #duckDuckGo for a lot of their search results being bad [don't use them for anything re: #trans #healthcare cuz they'll vomit up #transmisogynist #hate #propaganda] they at least know how to make their #InstantAnswers work and spit out the correct result to something from #StackOverflow / #ServerFault 97,5% of the time...
