Yaya Mayweather took to Instagram to clear the air regarding her co-parenting relationship with rapper NBA YoungBoy after a heated public dispute.
The viral accusation
The situation began when Yaya posted a sharp message on X (formerly Twitter) targeting the Baton Rouge artist.
She accused him of spending money on jewelry and shopping for other women while ignoring the costs for their son’s birthday party.
In the post, the influencer famously declared that her father, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, had to step in and pay the bill.
Public friction is not new for the rapper, as seen recently when 21 Savage tried to calm things down between Durk and YoungBoy during a separate online exchange.
Setting the record straight
Emotions cooled down by Saturday, leading Yaya to issue a formal apology for airing private family business on the internet.
She admitted that she reacted out of frustration because the payment was not happening as quickly as she wanted.
Yaya clarified that YoungBoy does help with their son, Kentrell Jr., whenever she asks him to do so.
The influencer explained that they have since spoken and are working toward better communication for the sake of their child.
This clarification helps silence other speculation, similar to how DJ Akademiks denies viral post that linked NBA YoungBoy and Gabrielle Alayah just last month.
Moving forward privately
Yaya finished her statement by emphasizing that growth means handling things better, not making them messier.
She stated her intent to keep future disagreements offline to protect their son and maintain peace between the two parents.
